so i remember one Christmas growing up Mother got ready to choke all of us for once again giving her as her gift something that was for her to use as 'mom' in the house - giving her a gift that was household role/task associated.
ReplyDeletenow as a massage therapist it is nice to get any of those things on that list - BUT I WANT OTHERS to think of me the person and give me the person a gift for me the person,
the gift above is just a supplies list, those anyone can pick up for me or buy for me or what ever, they are great to have - but they don't make my gift ideas list for me the person
Kind of like Mom getting a vacuum cleaner for a gift... I can understand that! For myself, I love to get new tools to work with... but especially the gift of massage - I always love to get a gift cert for a massage or spa treatment! Yet people seem to think I wouldn't want that... ? There's no such thing as too much massage, IMO :-)
DeleteI get a lot of teasing from my husband about this, but I always LOVE getting useful things like this as a gift. Of course I love a thoughtful gift, but in my mind a useful gift is just as thoughtful- I WANT these things! I'd be thrilled if I was gifted a massage tool/supply item that I'd been eyeing.
DeleteAgreed, Lisa! I "geek out" over new tools and supplies for massage - nothing more exciting for me than massage related things!
DeleteWell, if we are keeping it to massage-related items (I geek out over them also ;0) I would add Sacred Earth Botanicals Peppermint Foot Lotion, eye pillow (with extra covers), a box of unique thought cards (I like to leave a card for my clients - Zen Cards, 4 Agreement Cards, etc), a new fluffy blanket, glass nail file, new Haute Hip holster from Idee Dolce (http://ideedolce.com/)...
ReplyDeleteGreat additions, Tiffany!
DeleteOoooooh, I haven't tried that peppermint foot lotion, I will have to check it out! And yes - glass nail files rock!
Forgot one! I also love to get Sarongs/Pareos. I use them for breast drapes for abdominal massage, extra draping for prenatal (much nicer than a towel) and for extra draping for those big hip stretches we sometimes do for low back issues. They are pretty and soft and can even be draped over the table for decoration.
ReplyDeleteI love this idea, Tiffany! I've never tried using sarongs for draping - and what a great idea to also use them for table decoration.
DeleteThanks for sharing :-)
